International football is heading to London Road this August with Peterborough United hosting an England U17 international against Israel, a game that is part of a four-team tournament in the Anglia region.

The fixture takes place on 29th August with ticket prices set at £3 for adults in advance (£5 on the day) and £1 for concessions. Tickets will go on sale shortly. A further announcement will be made shortly.

The core of the England squad will be made up of last season's successful U16s team which won the home nations Victory Shield competition on Sky Sports. Managing England U17s will be John Peacock who is looking forward to seeing his squad in match action: 'The tournament is a nice start to the season and gives the players some match experience at a new age group. It will obviously be a learning curve for everyone involved but that's what these tournaments are all about.'

England U17s begin their European Championship qualifying campaign in Spain this October and Peacock sees the August tournament as a decent dress rehersal: 'Italy and Portugal have a history of producing good teams at youth level so they'll be a great test. Israel will provide a different kind of opposition. They'll be strong and competitive so it will be a good mix of games.'

Charter Standard clubs and schools can claim a maximum of 30 free tickets while group bookings of 15 or more means you can watch England U17s for just 50p.
