West Ham United have been an established Premier League side for a number of years and boast one of the countries top striking talents in Dean Ashton, who made his England debut in the recent friendly fixture with Trinidad and Tobago.

On Tuesday 29th July (7.45pm), Ashton is set to lead the line for the Hammers at London Road as they take on Darren Ferguson's Peterborough United in a pre-season friendly - a game that is expected to attract a sizeable crowd.

Ashton committed his future to the Hammers for the next five years, ending speculation that he was going to sign for Manchester United. The 24-year-old said: 'I said all along I wanted to sign, I feel I have still got plenty to offer the club and the fans. I am really happy that I have signed, now I can look forward to next season.

'I am really excited about next season. I feel I can only get better so I am really glad that I have signed and can look forward to the future. I think after the injury I had as well, it is nice the club have managed to agree with me on a new deal. We are really looking to the future.'

In fact, if the Hammers keep everyone fit this season they have an excellent chance of achieving a top seven finish in the Premier League. Scott Parker, Craig Bellamy, Julien Faubert, Kieran Dyer and Matthew Upson all had spells on the sidelines last year and are aiming for starts this term.

Last year also saw the emergence of the younger talent at Upton Park with striker Freddie Sears and midfielder Jack Collison coming through the ranks. Tickets are available online or through our 24-hour hotline number which is 0844 847 1934.
