Wycombe v Posh - The Match Preview

Posted on: Fri 04 Apr 2008

Peterborough United travel to Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday in the latest Coca-Cola League Two fixture and a win at Adams Park could take Darren Ferguson's men to within one point of automatic promotion.

After last weekend's 4-0 victory over Lincoln City at London Road, coupled with Darlington's failure to beat Barnet in mid-week, Posh are closing in on promotion.

TEAM NEWS
Posh are without the suspended Claude Gnakpa and the injured Craig Mackail-Smith (hamstring). Tom Williams is a doubt with an ankle injury sustained in training this week.

Wycombe are reporting no fresh injury worries so they are likely to name an unchanged side although new signing Delroy Facey could play some part after joining on-loan.

ONE TO WATCH
Scott McGleish is Wycombe's top scorer and will provide the main threat. The former Posh and Northampton striker (pictured) is a dangerous lower league marksman and his shooting prowess will need to be kept in check if Posh are going to record a 14th victory out of 17.

MANAGER QUOTES
'Wycombe will be tough opposition and they will be desperate for three points to increase their play-off hopes. We know the threat they pose, but our players are full of confidence and are looking forward to the game,' Ferguson said.
