Oldfield Takes Charge Of Reserve Team
Former Peterborough United midfielder David Oldfield is back at London Road after being appointed the club's reserve team manager until the end of the season.
Oldfield took charge of the second string in the fixture at Stevenage Borough on Wednesday afternoon and boss Darren Ferguson has confirmed that Oldfield will take control of the reserves for the remainder of the campaign.
'David is in control of the reserves and we will review the situation in the summer to see if we can get something more permanent sorted out. We need a reserve team manager and it allows Dave Robertson to return to coaching the youth team rather than doing both jobs,' Ferguson said.
Oldfield played for Posh between 2000 and 2002 and was a star performer in the 1-0 victory over Darlington in the Play-off Final at Wembley, putting in a tireless display alongside Andy Clarke in attack.
Oldfield made 68 starts during his two seasons at London Road and went on to play for Oxford and Stafford Rangers where he began his coaching career. We will be speaking to David on theposh.com this week.
