Adidas Shirt Update

Posted on: Tue 26 Feb 2008

Peterborough United Commercial Manager Leigh Porter updates supporters on the latest developments with regards to the new adidas replica kit for the 2008-2009 campaign.

What colours will the new shirts be?
'The home strip will be a blue shirt, white shorts and white socks - the same colours that we wore in the 1960-61 season, which was our first campaign in the Football League.

'The away strip is all black, the reason this was chosen is we have received many requests to keep this colour from our supporters and the black kit looks great in adidas designs.

'The third strip will comprise of a green shirt, white shorts and black socks and we took this decision because they are the same colours that were worn in the 1934 season.

'Even though we are moving forward into a new era with regards to our retailing it was very important that we recognised our history and this will be reflected in the marketing that will surround our retail activity for the 2008-2009 season.

'I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the supporters' groups who I met with for their input and everyone that has taken the time to contact me at the club with regards to the new shirts.

When will the new strips be available to buy?
'We are working closely with adidas to have shirts and team-wear in the Club Shop for sale on the 12th April for the Stockport County game. In addition to this we have secured some additional support from adidas to refit the North Stand Shop to help us maximise the retail side of the club.

Will they be available to pre-order?
We will launch pre-order sales at the Open Day on Saturday 22nd March at London Road.

More information with regards to the replica kit will be released as is happens on theposh.com.
