Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson has been boosted by the news that midfielder Micah Hyde is fit to return to the squad for Tuesday's clash at Wrexham (7.45pm).

The influential club captain has been sidelined with a hamstring injury, but trained on Monday in the north-west and Ferguson has indicated to theposh.com that he will be in the 16 for the League Two meeting at the Racecourse Ground.

Jamie Day is also expected to return to the squad after passing a fitness test on a bad back although he faces a fight to dislodge Daniel Blanchett at left-back after the former Cambridge City defender put in a good performance at Macclesfield Town.

Josh Low and Shane Blackett are also now available for selection after injury leaving Ferguson with almost a fully fit squad to choose from with only Kieran Charnock (knee) and Tom Williams (suspended) unavailable.

'We know it will be another difficult game, but it is important that we assert ourselves on the fixture. The first goal could be crucial in this game and we will need to perform well to get the right result. We have almost a fully fit squad to choose from and that is important at this stage of the season,' Ferguson said.

Wrexham are sweating on the fitness of captain Neil Roberts who has an ankle injury while Rob Duffy is expected to lead the line.
