Midfielder Gavin Strachan has cancelled his contract by mutual consent and is in talks with Coca-Cola League Two side Notts County over a possible move to Meadow Lane.

The former Hartlepool man hasn't featured in the first team for several months after several new signings and everyone at the football club would like to thank him for his service and wish him all the best in the future.

Striker Rene Howe has travelled to Rochdale to have talks about a loan spell until the end of the season while there have been plenty of enquires about goalkeeper Shwan Jalal.

The former Woking shot-stopper is expected to sign for a League Two club in the next few days. Meanwhile on the injury front, Posh defender Shane Blackett is expected to be out for up to three weeks with a knee injury, while Chris Westwood is two weeks away from a possible return.

Striker Danny Crow has stepped up his rehabilitation and could be available for a reserve team game in 10 days. The former Norwich City front man has been out with a fractured metatarsal.
