Defender's Contract Cancelled

Posted on: Thu 13 Dec 2007

Peterborough United defender Guy Branston has had his contract at London Road cancelled by mutual consent.

The experienced centre back has just returned from a loan spell with League One side Northampton Town, but after discussions with Barry Fry, the two parties have agreed a termination of Branston's contract.

Posh Director of Football Barry Fry told theposh.com: 'We wish Guy all the best for the future. He has been a model professional during his time with us and I am sure he will have no problem finding another club.'

Branston made 24 league starts during his spell with Posh - his third spell with the club. The defender, speaking exclusively to The Posh World, has wished the club well for the future.

'I am obviously disappointed that things have not worked out with Peterborough because they are a great club with tremendous supporters, but I think it is best for all parties to move on. Barry and the chairman Darragh MacAnthony have been fantastic and I wish Posh all the best for the future,' Branston said.
