Capone Out To Impress

Posted on: Fri 13 Jul 2007

Andrea Capone will today travel with Celtic in the hope of earning a permanent transfer. The former Cagliari playmaker is expected to feature in at least part of tonight's friendly match against Peterborough United and Gordon Strachan, the Celtic manager, will make up his mind on the 26-year-old after Sunday's match against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.

Capone's fitness is not in question after he breezed through the club's training sessions but Strachan will reserve judgment until he sees him in competitive action. If Capone makes an impact then he could continue the pre- season campaign in America, where Celtic face an MLS Select side managed by the former Liverpool and Scotland defender, Steve Nicol, and Chicago Fire.

Fulvio Marrucco, Capone's agent, flew home to Italy last night without a contract being agreed, but is due to face Darren Ferguson's men. Massimo Donati is also expected to start for Celtic after completing his move from Italy.

The game kicks-off at 7.45pm this evening at London Road. Because of the increased demand from supporters for Peterborough United's mouth-watering friendly with Celtic at London Road on Friday evening, the club has agreed to sell tickets on the turnstiles.

Although, we still recommend that you purchase your tickets in advance either by telephoning the Box Office on 01733 563947 or online at www.theposhtickets.com (these tickets will be available at a special collection point adjacent to the Posh Venue), fans will be able to turn up on the night and pay cash at the turnstiles (apart from North Stand seating, where you are instructed to go the Ticket Office).

The areas where you can gain admission at the turnstiles (with cash) are: Moyes End Terrace, London Road Terrace and the South Stand (lower and upper).

Seating tickets are priced at £25 for adults and £15 for concessions with terrace tickets set at £20 for adults and £10 for concessions. Celtic have confirmed they are bringing the Scottish Premier League trophy and the Scottish Cup with them to London Road.
