Posh Urge Fans To Recycle

Posted on: Thu 22 Jul 2010

Peterborough United manager Gary Johnson is going green, but don't despair, he is not taking over at Celtic, he is just urging supporters to recycle.

The City Council's City Services team were down at London Road with the new bins that are in operation in the city centre, which are designed to encourage the public to recycle their waste.

Johnson, who is pictured with Mark Horsley and Kirsty Martin from the City Services team, said: 'The Johnson household is no different to any other in the city, we have the several bins and distinguish which item of rubbish goes where.

'These bins that are in the city centre are nice and simple and I am sure it will encourage more people to recycle their waste,' Johnson said.

Goalkeepers Joe Lewis and James McKeown took part in a challenge to put some every day rubbish into the right waste bin, while the players will be demonstrating what they have learned from the Council in the first round of the match day quiz in the programme.

The quiz, which always proves popular with the playrs, will feature enviromental questions in the opening exchanges. If you want to find out more, please visit www.peterborough.gov.uk.
