BGL Group Present Cheque To Foundation

Posted on: Tue 15 Mar 2011

Major Peterborough employer, the BGL group, were on hand last week to present staff from the Peterborough United Foundation with a donation of £7,000 towards a new environmental programme, due to be rolled out in Primary schools in September.

Jeremy Moll, Head of the BGL Group Regional Community Team, visited the club to present the cheque to Dave Robertson and Nick Sheppard.

The Environmental programme will be rolled out to local primary schools, offering them the opportunity to take part in interactive lessons here at London Road. All participants will work through booklets during the lessons and learn about the importance of all green issues.

Jeremy Moll of the BGL group said: "We are thrilled to be able to contribute to the Foundations new Environmental Programme. At BGL, our people are very community-focused and are pleased to be able to support this project. We are always seeking opportunities to help our local community and welcome approaches from good causes.'

Community Officer Nick Sheppard added: 'We were delighted to receive this generous donation from the BGL group. It will go a very long way to help us in rolling the Environmental project out which will be huge for the Football Club, especially as the London Road site has been designated as a Carbon Challenge area.

'This will help us further our educational projects on offer to local schools and we must extend a massive thanks to the BGL group for allowing this to happen. We hope that it will not only impact the children taking part but also that they may be able to educate their parents and people at home.'
