Peterborough United in the Community has been working closely with the Police Safer School Partnership in a new initiative on the East of the city. Community Coach Simon Ryan has been delivering coaching sessions for the last couple of weeks and after a good response is set to continue after the October half term.

The sessions are for girls aged 11-17 and are aimed at bringing different social groups together through football. Police Safer Schools Officer, Jacqui Reid said 'The football sessions are a joint initiative between the Police Safer Schools Partnership, St John Fisher Catholic High School, local Neighbourhood Policing team and Peterborough United Football club. I felt there was a need to engage with young females in the East and this is a fantastic opportunity for young people to get fit and mix with other youngsters from the East area of the city giving them something positive to do in their spare time and to work as part of a team. I would like to thank Peterborough United for their support in this activity which I am sure will prove to be a great success.'
