Peterborough United Football in the Community and Junior Posh held their first Football Funday of the Summer on Tuesday. Players were not put off by the dark skies over Werrington Sports Centre and over 40 turned out to take part in a range of fun Football activities.

As the rain came down, the players took part in some warm up games followed by some dribbling exercises. After a short break, the players were back on the field playing a mini World Cup tournament.

The afternoon session consisted of several shooting activities which was then followed by a presentation. Each player received a signed certificate from injured right winger Chris Whelpdale.

Football in the Community Officer Nick Sheppard said: 'A huge well done to everyone who attended the day. It was a huge success and even the rain didn't bother the players taking part! Once again a massive thanks must go to Chris for coming down to meet the players. We look forward to seeing everyone taking part in our next Fundays at Hampton and Bushfields.'
