Players Visit Hospital
Members of the Peterborough United first team put some smiles on a few faces prior to Christmas with a visit to the Amazon Children's Ward of the Peterborough District Hospital.
Craig Mackail-Smith, Aaron Mclean, George Boyd, Charlie Lee, Danny Crow, Jamie Day and Daniel Blanchett spent time with the youngsters who will unfortunately be spending the festive period in hospital.
The club took with them a cheque for £1,000 for the Ward to spend on equipment and the players signed team posters for the youngsters.
On arrival at the hospital, the players were greeted by a gentleman who spoke about his brother who was in one of the wards. After spending an hour in the Children's Ward, the players dropped in on Doug Bedford, a senior citizen season ticket holder who was delighted by the visit.
A Posh spokesman said: 'It is always important to visit the Children's Ward at the hospital, particularly at Christmas and it was nice to be able to donate a £1,000 to the ward. It is a difficult time for the youngsters and I hope we put a few smiles on their faces.'
