The Centre of Excellence games programme kicked-off at the weekend and the Peterborough United squads took on Gillingham. The under 9s, 11s, 13s and 15s travelled to the University of Kent to tackle their counterparts while the under 10s, 12s and 14s played at the home venue of St. Neots Town Football Club. The under 16s faced Gillingham at the Woodlands training ground.
Centre Manager Andy Davies told theposh.com 'It is fantastic to get the season off and running after a excellent pre-season tour, which saw our young players performing at some fantastic clubs and working really hard.'
The next Centre of Excellence fixture is against Queens Park Rangers on Sunday 13th September. The under 9s, 11s, 13s and 15s will be playing at home, while the under 10s, 12s and 14's will travel to the QPR training ground. All Posh supporters are welcome to come along and support the players of the future. The under 9s and 11s will kick-off at 10.30am and the under 15s starting at 12.30pm.
