Emile Sinclair scored a superb hat-trick as Peterborough United clinched their first league win of the campaign with an impressive 3-1 victory at Hull City, who had previously had a 100% record at the KC Stadium.
Former Glasgow Rangers front man Sone Aluko had the first effort of this game, but he could not keep his header down after excellent work from Elmohamady in wide areas.
Emile Sinclair's pace was causing a problem at the other end, he breezed past two defenders including Faye, but his left-foot shot was saved by Amos, albeit scruffily. Olejnik produced a fine stop at his near post to deny the tricky Aluko who had twisted and turned past Nathaniel Knight-Percival.
Posh got their noses in front on 23 minutes and it was a superb display of persistence from SINCLAIR who closed down Quinn and as the ball ran loose he got up off his feet and raced at goal, he slowed it down, rounded Amos and slotted into an empty net.
It was 2-0 to Posh on the half hour mark as a superb counter attack led by Boyd concluded with the winger picking out the confident SINCLAIR, he took a touch and provided a clinical right foot finish past Amos.
Olejnik denied Aluko's low drive on 34 minutes after he cut inside from the left. The same Hull player fired over from 10-yards in the first few moments of the second period after an excellent cut back by Dudgeon.
The Tigers introduced German striker Nick Proschwitz on 57 minutes, but it was still Sinclair doing the damage, exchanging passes with Barnett only to see his effort saved by Amos.
That miss proved costly on the hour mark as the Tigers reduced the arrears as a low cross from Elmohamady was converted high into the net by Jay SIMPSON.
The goalscorer headed a Koren free-kick wide of the target at the back post on 65 minutes as the Tigers came close to an equaliser.
Kgosi Nthle replaced Ferdinand on 71 minutes and moments later, SINCLAIR turned into Lionel Messi, beat three defenders, slowed it down and then slammed a shot into the far corner. Stunning goal from the front man and a hat-trick.
Olejnik denied Koren's low free-kick on 78 minutes after Bostwick has been penalised for a foul. Lee Tomlin replaced the hard-working Barnett on 80 minutes. Olejnik denied a low Rosenior effort and did well to smother the ball.
Lee Tomlin had a go at the other end, but Amos saved well diving to his left. Four minutes of added time was awarded by the fourth official. Olejnik denied Aluko in stoppage time before the referee brought an end to proceedings and Posh had recorded their first league win.
